On Saturday last a large contingent of the club took part in the Rebel Tour which started in Glengariff. The riders stayed overnight in Kenmare on Friday and traveled down to Glengariff for the 9am start.
The route took the riders from Glengariff back towards Kenmare Lauragh across the Healy Pass on towards Castletownbere Cods Head Eyeries and across the Healy Pass a second time to finish in Glengariff a total of 162km and 2116m of climbing.
The route was well marshalled with plenty of water stops and Feed Station after the first ascent of the Healy Pass and another at Eyeries. Overall it was a fantastic day weather was a little mixed in the early part of the cycle but it dried out to make a spectacular day of cycling which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
