Sunday Morning Club Coffee Spin 24/07/2016

Last week club riders made their way from Killorglin, Killarney Faha, Listry (and of course Milltown) to the meeting point of Milltown for 7:45.

Eleven riders in total set off for the Tralee Mountains in a heavy drizzle, after ascending the climb at a steady pace and a brief stop at the top for members to take off and pack away their rain capes, we descended into Tralee in very pleasant conditions. From there we carried on in the direction of Fenit by a somewhat meandering route along backroads for a time before joining the main road. After battling our way into a strong head wind to Fenit, we then turned for Ardfert. From Ardfert with the wind now firmly at our back we headed back to Tralee for the mandatory coffee stop.

Refuelled and with the sun in the sky we setoff for home via Farranfore. The pace was lively for the last leg which was reflected in a respectable 29kph average. In fact we made such good time that some decided to have another coffee in Milltown before heading home. All in all a good morning’s spin was had by all.

Roll on next weekend.
