Christmas sorted for Hamper winners:
You know that the countdown is on to the most wonderful time of the year when the Killorglin Cycling Clubs Christmas Hamper ride takes to the roads.
Once again this year there was a great turn-out for the ride where the cyclists covered either the 50km or 75km route with the weather on Sunday also co-operating.
The cycle started and finished at the Killorglin Community Centre and the riders were delighted with the hot food and drinks provided by the hard working committee behind the event.
Alan Jones from the hosting Killorglin Cycling Club said the Hamper ride is now firmly established in the pre-Christmas sporting calendar.
“It was great to see so many familiar faces back again this year plus some first timers. We are very lucky in the club to have so many people willing to volunteer to make this event such a success. And of course we must thank the sponsors from the town and beyond who come up trumps every year. All the riders who went home with goodies are looking forward to enjoying them over Christmas.”
The top 3 following the 75km ride were
- Conor Kissane Killarney CC,
- Bernard Sweeney Killorglin CC
- John Brosnan Killarney CC.
First home from the shorter route were
- Lorcan Daly Killarney CC
- Peter Finn, Newcastlewest CC
- Aaron O’Donoghue Killarney CC.
