Kerry League RR 2013 Round 2 Route

Round 2 of the 2013 Kerry League RR will take place on Thurs June 6th. Following concerns about possible roadworks on the race route, we have altered the route in the interests of safety.

Details are as follows :

Sign-On : Manor West Hotel 6:30pm-7:00pm Sharp

Race Start : Iron Bridge ( Ballycarthy Roundabout ) 7:15 Sharp

Course is Ballycarthy Roundabout, Farranfore, Castleisland ByPass, Fahaduff, Reanagowan and finishing at the summit.

Underage Riders will also be starting from the Iron Bridge but using the main Tralee-Castleisland road.

Kanturk 3 Day

Killorglin Cycling Club riders are currently taking part in the Corkman 3 Day promoted by the Kanturk Cycling Club. In the A4 race, Pa O’Connor is currently in 8th place on GC after a massive performance in the morning time trial. Cian Leahy guesting for the club is currently the best placed Junior rider in 14th place. Michael O’Shea is riding well and is currently in 18th on GC.

What To Take On A 100km Ride – Cycling Tips

Knowing what – and how much – to take on a long ride can be a tricky buisness. We’ve taken the guess work out of it, and tell you what you need while traveling light.

There are three essentials to cover: fluid, food, and tools.
We recommend, if possible, taking two bottles and filling up mid ride to make sure you are not burdened with unnecessary weight. Take one piece of food per hour, but you need to find out what works for you.
Finally, take two inner tubes, pump and a multi tool to cover the basic mechanical issues you might encounter. Remember though that nothing substitutes a well serviced bike before you set out.
